The extra sound sets for Breaktweaker are amazing. I recommend getting it from Plugin Boutique because they sell the bundle with the “expanded” versions of a lot of the plugins, meaning they include all the extra sound sets you would pay extra for otherwise.

I’ve never seen them bundled that cheap before so if you have the means, I’d jump on that deal. Stutter Edit is amazing for what it does and the rest of the plugins in that bundle are amazing, too. I highly recommend that music maker bundle for $50 if you have the money.

Crystallizer is really cool and unique and worth $29.Īll the above recommendations put together would be less than the $300 for the Soundtoys Bundle. You could pick up one of the Valhalla reverbs as well if you need a good reverb (if you get Room or Vintage Verb, those are probably a bit more flexible than the only Soundtoys reverb which is Little Plate, which is good but it's a very particular type of reverb).įrom Soundtoys, the individual plugins are on sale now as well, so you could also get a couple of those standalone. In terms of individual plugins to add on, I really love Valhalla Delay which is $50, I personally like it more than Echoboy.

(And this would also let you upgrade to the iZotope Music Production Suite in the future, which you might consider instead of the FabFilter bundle as it's slightly less expensive and arguably just as high quality).

It comes with all of their older, but still very usable and creative effects like Trash 2, Breaktweaker, and Iris 2, plus all the "Elements" versions of their main plugins like Ozone and Neutron. One cheap bundle I would recommend is the iZotope Music Maker's bundle which is only $50 right now. Plus these days there are great modulation tools to do things like control any knob with LFOs or step sequencers, so you don't need as many control features built into the plugins themselves. But I don't really use these kinds of effects all that often, and when I do Ableton Live has a version of all of them that gets the job done. For less than the Soundtoys bundle costs, you can probably use a mix of the plugins included in your DAW, which are just as good in many cases, plus buy a select few other plugins from any different manufacturers to augment it with based on exactly what you want.įor example, for effects like filter, tremolo, flanger, phaser, the Soundtoys versions are good and all and they provide lots of in-depth controls. However these days, there are tons of options out there to choose from. I think part of it is they've been around a long time, and always treated their customers well, made quality products, and have an annual sale with really good upgrade pricing that is fun to look forward to. This may be a *very* unpopular opinion, because I know everyone loves Soundtoys.
